A gas engineers job revolves around the fitting, checking and repair of gas appliances and piping in the home. LJS Gas and Heating are commercial gas engineers. Our team will service, repair and install industrial appliances, heaters, central heating boilers and pipework in all commercial properties.
Working in schools, universities, public buildings and local businesses, our team are on hand to provide repair, maintenance and installation services for larger gas appliances, heating systems and pipework, this means we have the capabilities needed to maintain and repair larger systems.
A registered and accredited gas engineer will have an industry gas qualification, whether this be an NVQ or Diploma. Some certified gas engineers can also become qualified through working an apprenticeship, however regardless of the route an engineer should choose to take, a certification should be awarded at the end of training.
We invoice in advance for any materials or parts needing to be ordered to complete a job, however all labour costs are invoiced in arrears, upon job completion and are to be paid within 7 working days.
It really is simple… very! Poorly fitted and badly serviced appliances can lead to gas leaks, fires, explosions and at worst carbon monoxide gas poisoning. Dangerous and incorrect gas work can be fatal. Using an unqualified gas engineer is illegal and can put your life / your employees life and business premise at risk. Please do remember that it is also against the law for any individual to undertake gas work within the UK, Isle of Man or Guernsey unless they are Gas Safe Registered.
The Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. It is appointed by the appropriate health and safety authority for the area. When a company becomes Gas Safe Registered they are issued a licence to carry out all relevant gas work. All our engineers at LJS Gas and Heating are Gas Safe registered.
